Referrals will be accepted from the following school professionals in the London Borough of Redbridge
SENCOs [Special Educational Needs Coordinator]
CP Coordinators [Child Protection]
PSAs [Parent Support Advisors]
Other school professionals that may be involved in referrals:
Those with pastoral responsibility
Anti-bullying coordinators
Peer mentoring coordinators
PSHE coordinators [Personal, Social and Health Education]
Non-school based professionals that could be involved in referrals:
EWOs [Educational Welfare Officers]
School Nurses
EPs [Educational Psychologists]
All counsellors funded by NET are asked to provide evidence that they are:
Øregistered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy [BACP]
Øfully CRB checked
Øexperienced in working with children and young people.
In order to make a referral to PEACHY the following criteria should be met:
·The child/young person must have already been referred to CAMHS [Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services]
·The GP must be aware that there are concerns
·All other avenues should already have been explored; for example;
Ø“Hear and Now” counselling services
Ø1:1 support via Connexions [13 years+]
ØSchool Counsellors
ØPrivate, affordable counselling
·The child/young person must be on a waiting list for an appointment with CAMHS or another counselling service or have been offered group or family counselling rather than 1:1
·There is willingness on the part of the child/young person to engage in counselling
·Parent/Carer agreement and support has been established
