PEACHY aims to fund interim support and counselling for children and young people during the waiting period in order for them to access help sooner and in this way offer a safety net to catch them before they fall into deeper problems or despair. The number of children and young people that can be helped will depend directly on how much money we are able to raise.
This is a new venture for PEACHY and in order to manage the case load we will only be accepting referrals from the following school professionals: SENCOs, Child Protection Co-ordinators, Parent Support Advisers and Connexions Personal Advisers currently working in the London Borough of Redbridge.
Other people who may wish to access our help may do so by liaising with one of these school professionals.
Once a problem has been identified and it fits our criteria for funding we will send details of a counsellor. The school or parents can arrange the sessions to suit themselves and we would provide [or partially provide] the funding.
However we are aware that you may have questions you wish to ask or details you wish to clarify. Whether you are a professional, service provider or a concerned individual we would be happy to answer your queries. Please use the enquiry page on the web site.
We are available to attend training sessions and cluster group meetings and can deliver training and information in the following areas:
The work of PEACHY
How to manage the referral process.
Recognising the signs of depression in children and young people.
